Heavy Lies the Crown


This was the penultimate University project I completed, with it acting as my Dissertation.I was a Level Designer for a Souls-like game that one of my lecturers is working on. The game is based in King Arthurian legend, in which the player (King Arthur) is on a quest to reclaim his crown.For this project I designed and implemented a blocked-out layout inside of Unreal Engine 5. I produced three designs, two of which were recreated inside of Unreal. I researched Flow Theory and considered it heavily during the design and iteration process. I was required to decide on enemy locations and checkpoint locations, as well as where any pop-up tooltips would be displayed.It was important to ensure that the world could be fully realised and feel connected, alongside being functional as a tutorial, the feedback gained during this experience helped me achieve that.

VR Probation Officer Simulator


This the final project I worked on at University.I was the Lead Designer in a 9-person team and managed game design documentation, overall game design, and was heavily involved in implementation inside of Unreal Engine 5.The main focus of the project was being able to interact with a list of objects within this environment, in order for the player to make a conclusion on the state of the room-owner. This project required the recreation of a real-life room, which I spent the majority of the project working on, it was extremely important that the scale was perfect, as the people who would be playing this project would likely not be used to VR.I spent the majority of the project drafting out layouts for the room, and using blocked out layouts inside of Unreal Engine 5 to test scale with my peers.

Bunn & Bon (WIP)


This game is early in development in Godot 4. The game is a 2D Metroidvania in which you explore a vibrant and colourful underground world as a pair of Rabbits.

About Me


I'm a passionate Game Designer with a specific interest in and around all things Level Design. I've graduated from the University of Portsmouth with an Upper Second Class Degree with Honours in Computer Games Technology. I've worked on a number of different projects throughout the 3-year course, ranging from Level to Lead Designer.My journey didn't just begin there however, I've been interested in Game Design from a young age, being intrigued by how games bring people together and provide such memorable experiences. I'd often create my own levels in fan games and Flash browser games in my spare time.On this site you can take a look at a couple of the projects I worked on during my time at University, as well as a variety of the Pixel Art I like to do alongside it.I'm interested in games in varying genres, with a love for Metroidvanias and Platformers, as well as a large amount of experience with competitive games such as Overwatch and Valorant. This has helped me understand different values when it comes to game design, as I have played games for my whole life from various different perspectives.I'm working on a Metroidvania game at the moment! I'm it's solo developer, taking on all elements of it's creation, from art asset creation to Level/World Design, you can see more about it on the projects page!
